The entire cremation process can be handled within 24 - 48 hours of our taking your pet into our care. Part of our service guarantee is that if we take more than 72 hours to return your pet's cremation remains we'll waive the cremation fee.  Two types of pet cremation are available:  private cremation and community (group) cremation. The best way to determine which is right for you and your pet is to ask yourself, "Is it important to me to have my pet's ashes back?"

Private Cremation:

Your pet is cremated individually and returned to you in a temporary container.  Placement of your pet's remains in one of our many urns is optional.  We offer, at no cost, to place your pets remains in an urn or container that you provide or you may wish to choose one of the many urns we have.   Private cremation gives you a chance to memorialize your pet in a way that best suits your relationship and emotional needs. Many urns can be personalized to best represent how your pet impacted you and your family’s life.

At Metro Pet Crematory we maintain the highest level of controls and follow a series of redundant procedures to guarantee the individuality of your beloved pet.

Private Pet Cremation: An industry standard is to base cremation fees on the weight of a pet.

Call For Service Details

We are also the only pet cremation service that invoices clients.  We allow our clients 21 days to pay for our services, eliminating the possible finical burden a sudden pet death may cause.

To provide a sensitive alternative for pet owners, we promise to treat your pet with the dignity and respect they deserve.

For Clarity purposes the 7 Step Process we follow is described below:

We provide a comprehensive 7 step process to ensure that cremation remains are always returned to the rightful owner. It is important for owners to know that their beloved pet has truly been returned to them.

  1. Once a pickup has been scheduled, we provide a cremation ID number to the pet.

  2. We identify and tag the pet upon pick up

  3. A stainless steel cremation disc with the ID number engraved on it remains with the pet throughout the cremation process

  4. The ashes are placed in a temporary cremation container or urn.

  5. The cremation container is labeled with all critical information including cremation I.D. number, pet name, owner name and contact information.

  6. A certificate of cremation bearing the pet's name, owners name, cremation ID number and date of cremation is prepared and personally signed.

  7. Paperwork with the pet's information is matched with the pet's ashes and securely stored until pickup or delivery of cremation remains.

Community Cremation:

Your pet is cremated along with other pets. The ashes are not returned to you and are scattered on property located in rural HRM.
